Southwest Regional Medical Center and the Rotary Club of Waynesburg will offer a Multiphasic Blood Screening on Saturday, Nov. 21. The program will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Registration will be held in the second floor lobby area.
This blood screening is offered twice a year to improve the health of the community by providing a comprehensive blood analysis. The basic blood analysis can help identify health risks such as high cholesterol, diabetes, kidney problems, cancer and many others. There is a cost for this test.
There are also some optional tests that can be completed. Male participants may elect to have a PSA test to check the prostrate for an additional fee.
Other optional tests include a urinalysis and occult blood test. TSH testing will also be offered to evaluate thyroid function.
These tests can help detect a variety of potential health problems and can be done as part of an annual wellness routine for those wishing to be proactive about their health.
A physician consent form is required for all testing. This consent form can be obtained by calling 724-627-2623 or by visiting the center's website at www.sw-rmc.com.
