George Jake Cameron, 69, of Waynesburg, died at 2:35 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2009, in his home.
He was born Monday, April 22, 1940, in Clinton, N.J., a son of the late Lucy McKee Cameron.
Mr. Cameron was affiliated with Landmark Baptist Church.
He was a laborer, while his health permitted.
His wife, Hilda Cogar Cameron, whom he married February 14, 1998, survives.
Also surviving are a son, George Cameron Jr. of New Jersey; two stepdaughters, Rhonda Thomas of New Martinsville, W.Va., and Eve Adamson of Waynesburg; two stepsons, Russell Harris of Belington, W.Va., and Raymond Harris of New Hampshire; four granddaughters; and several grandsons and great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a stepdaughter, Robin S. Titchnell, and a stepson, Rance Harris.
The family requests that donations be made to help with funeral expenses.
Mary I. Howard Hinebaugh
Mary I. Howard Hinebaugh, 90, of Mt. Morris, died at 8:15 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2009, in her home, after suffering a lengthy illness.
She was born Tuesday, November 18, 1919, just across the line in West Virginia, an only child of the late Gleason Howard and Pleasie Fox Howard.
Mrs. Hinebaugh enjoyed bingo and being around people.
While living in Kirby, she served as Whiteley Township tax collector for several years.
Her husband, Morris Francis Hinebaugh, died October 21, 1980.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty Joann and husband Thomas Brinegar of Suffolk, Va.; a son, James Gleason "Butch" and wife Janice Hinebaugh of Maysville, W.Va.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Sarah W. Orndoff
Sarah W. Orndoff passed away Thursday, December 24, 2009, in the home of her daughter in York.
She was born June 25, 1930, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Harlan K. and Ruth F. Watson.
Mrs. Orndoff was the widow of George M. Orndoff, who passed away in July 1999.
She retired from the Army and Air Force Exchange at Fort Indiantown Gap.
Mrs. Orndoff was an avid crocheter and knitter.
Surviving are daughters Rita McCue and husband Jack of Wampum, Patty Orndoff of Pittsburgh and Marlene Eyster and husband Tom of York; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister, Edna Ruth Filer of Washington; a brother, Hiram Watson of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, Harlan K. Watson.

David Reed Cooper
David Reed Cooper died at 3:28 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2009, in his home in Washington.
He was a son of the late Milo Wayne Cooper and Wanda Finch Cooper Stoneking of Waynesburg.
Mr. Cooper was formerly of Oak Forest, Waynesburg and Richill Township, Greene County, where he was born May 25, 1937. He lived with his grandparents, Floyd and Effie Finch, until he graduated from West Greene High School in 1957.
He joined the U.S. Army Nov. 21, 1957, and specialized in automotive maintenance at Fort Knox, Ky. He served in Korea with Charlie Company 326 Combat Engineer and received an honorable discharge April 30, 1963.
He specialized in blast furnace stove/checker brick cleaning. He retired as an automotive mechanic at Patch Dodge in Houston and drove semitrucks for different companies.
On October 26, 2002, he married Helen Herrmann. They were members of Covenant Life Fellowship Church, where he and his wife were church photographers. Mr. Cooper also converted the pastor's Sunday messages from tape to CD.
Deceased are his stepfather, Howard Stoneking; and two stepbrothers, Bill Stoneking and Frank Stoneking, formerly of Rochester, Mich.
Surviving are five children, Terry Cooper (Ronda), Cindi Cooper Eddy (Ron), Patty Cooper Reynolds (Don), Marie Cooper Coffman (Owen) and Phyllis Cooper; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, Becky Herrmann McDonough (Mike), Ethel Herrmann Findling (Glenn) and Jay D. Herrmann Perris; and a close friend, Patricia Auther, whom Mr. Cooper adopted as a sister, of Russellville, Ohio.

Edward Burnfield Jr.
Edward Burnfield Jr., 76, of Waynesburg, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 6, 1933, in Jefferson, a son of the late Edward and Hazel Pyle Burnfield Sr.
Mr. Burnfield served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He was a retired coal miner from Cyprus Resources, Cumberland Mine.
Mr. Burnfield was a member of United Mine Workers of America Local 2300 of Waynesburg, American Legion Post 954 of Jefferson and Moose Lodge 461 of Waynesburg.
He lived all of his life in Greene County.
On November 23, 1955, he married Mary M. Haring, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Debra Kingan and fiance James Brumage of Waynesburg; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; two brothers, Ernest Burnfield and wife Janet of Waynesburg and Ronald Burnfield and wife Shirley of Waynesburg; and two sisters, Louise Denny and husband Jerry of Jefferson and Shirley Riley and husband John of Waynesburg.
Deceased are a son, Randy Burnfield; a grandson, Jason Burnfield; three brothers, Arthur Burnfield, William Burnfield and Francis Burnfield, who died in infancy; and two sisters, Geraldine Taylor and Naomi Haring.

Shirley H. Piper Kerr
Shirley H. Piper Kerr, 70, of Jefferson, died at 7 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2009, in her home.
She was born Saturday, December 16, 1939, in Deemston, a daughter of the late Willis Piper and Mary Belle Colbert Piper.
Mrs. Kerr was a member of Fairall United Methodist Church.
She also was an active member of Women of the Moose 888 of Waynesburg, having held several positions throughout the years. She also enjoyed bowling.
While her health permitted, she drove a school bus for McNelly Transportation in Waynesburg and was a homemaker.
Her husband, George R. "Snoop" Kerr, whom she married May 29, 1971, died November 11, 2008.
Surviving are a daughter and husband, Gwendolyn and Robert Simpson of Jefferson; a son and wife, Jeffrey L. and Carol Kerr of Waynesburg; five grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Piper of Mansfield, Ohio.
The family suggests memorials be made to Albert Gallatin Hospice.
Betty J. Cole
Betty J. Cole, 87, of Carmichaels, died Friday, January 1, 2010, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township.
She was born April 23, 1922, in Vanderbilt, a daughter of the late Andrew and Priscilla Lewis Brocco.
A homemaker, Mrs. Cole lived in the Carmichaels and Mather areas most all of her life.
She was a member of Greene Valley Church of God.
Surviving are a daughter, Frances L. King of Sagamore Hills, Ohio; a son, Charles M. Cole of Austintown, Ohio; three grandchildren, the Rev. Frank C. Menhart Jr. of Claysville, Mark Cole of Mineral Ridge, Ohio, and Nina Fauvie of Sumter, S.C.; six great-grandchildren, Gretchen Shape, Nathan Menhart, Matthew Menhart, Kayla Menhart, Michael Menhart and Nicole Fauvie; and a great-great-granddaughter, Makenna Shape.
Deceased are several brothers and sisters.
Bertha T. Howard
Bertha T. Howard, 81, of Greensboro, died at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born July 17, 1928, in Poland Mines, Monongahela Township, Greene County, a daughter of the late James E. and Myrtle Hager Bell.
Mrs. Howard was a homemaker and resided in Greene County all of her life.
She was Pentecostal and enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening.
Mrs. Howard cherished her family and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
On February 13, 1943, she married John Sherwood Howard, who died November 3, 2000.
Surviving are two sons, John E. Howard and wife Shirley of Greensboro and Donald S. Howard of Mt. Morris; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Metcalf of Bobtown; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are a son, Gary Howard, who died in infancy; two daughters, Donelda V. Self and Betty Jean Howard; six grandchildren, John S. Howard, Linda Howard, Maxine Darr, Holly Self, Britney Howard and Bonnie Michaels; five brothers, Thomas, Robert, James, Archie and William "Woody" Bell; and a sister, Dorothy Richards.
Walter Williams III
Walter "Bud" Williams III, 84, of Carmichaels, formerly of Waynesburg, died Thursday, December 31, 2009, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg.
He was born September 12, 1925, in Philadelphia, a son of the late Walter Williams II and Eva May Roberts.
Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a communications dispatcher with PennDOT in Waynesburg and had operated the Triangle Hotel for 23 years.
Mr. Williams lived in Greene County since 1958 and was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Waynesburg.
On November 16, 2005, he married Ruth McHenry, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, April Floyd of Mulvane, Kan., and Roxanne MacDonald of Lutz, Fla.; two sons, Fred Zeth of Holbrook and Todd Williams of Dayton, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Brenda Rush of York and Karla Mahle of Carmichaels; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Vie Pickford of Philadelphia.
Deceased are two brothers, Fred and Robert Williams; and three sisters, Mae Gugger, Peggy Breighupt and Helen Cavella.
James K. Orum
James K. Orum, 67, formerly of Wheeling, W.Va., passed away Friday, January 1, 2010, in Golden Living Center, Waynesburg.
He was born February 9, 1942, in Wheeling, W.Va., a son of the late Henry and Elizabeth K. Hall Orum.
Mr. Orum was Presbyterian.
He was the owner of the Waynesburg Hotel and Lounge and also Ace Coin Machine Co. in Waynesburg.
In addition to his parents, deceased is a brother, Hall A. Orum.
Surviving is his former wife and friend, Diane Orum of Bridgeport, Ohio.
He also leaves several cousins and good friends, as well as his beloved dog, Molly.

Emily Doris Grossl Renner
Emily Doris Grossl Renner, 83, of Waynesburg, died at 2:10 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010, in her home.
She was born Wednesday, September 1, 1926, in Huddy, Ky., a daughter of the late Anthony Grossl and Rittie Blanche Daugherty Grossl.
Mrs. Renner lived in Mt. Morris from 1944 to 1964, and she then moved to Waynesburg.
She was a member of Washington Street United Methodist Church in Waynesburg.
She also was a member of the Mt. Morris James T. Maxon American Legion Post 992 Auxiliary.
Mrs. Renner had worked as a grocery store clerk and was a homemaker.
Her husband, Harold Wesley Renner, whom she married September 25, 1947, died July 9, 2005.
Surviving are a daughter and husband, Linda Sue and Melvin Wood of Waynesburg; three sons and wives, James Allen and Virginia Renner of Waynesburg, David Bruce Renner of Waynesburg and Charles Alan and Kimberly Renner of Jefferson; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Anthony Grossl of Kirtland, Ohio.
She also leaves her caregiver, Elaine Randall.
Deceased are a brother, Everett Darrell Grossl; and a great-grandson.
